How to permanently delete your Aiko Chat account and what happens to your data.
Deleting your account permanently removes your identity from the Aiko Chat server your app is connected to. Your account and messages live on a single server, so this removes everything associated with your account. This action cannot be undone.
| Data | What happens when you delete your account |
|---|---|
| Account identity — your username, display name, any email address, and your sign-in credentials (password hash and/or any linked Apple, Google, or passkey identifiers) | Permanently deleted. |
| Blocks you created | Permanently deleted. |
| Messages you sent | Kept but anonymised — your name is removed and the messages are relabelled "[deleted user]" so the conversation other people saw stays intact, but the messages no longer link to you. |
| Reports you filed | Kept but anonymised — retained without your identity so our safety and moderation records remain auditable. |
We do not run automatic expiry — your account and messages are kept until you delete your account. Once you delete it, your account identity is removed straight away. The anonymised message and report records described above are retained indefinitely with no link back to you, so we cannot re-associate them with your identity after deletion.
Deletion is self-service from within the app while signed in. If you have lost access to your account and cannot sign in to delete it yourself, contact the support address listed on Aiko Chat's App Store / Google Play listing and we will help you complete the deletion.
