How to get help, report a problem, or reach a human.
Email us about anything — a bug, a question, a stuck account, or content you need looked at. We aim to reply within a few days, and we act on reports of objectionable content or abusive behaviour within 24 hours.
Aiko Chat signs you in with a passkey — the fingerprint, face, or device PIN you already use to unlock your phone or computer. There is no password to remember or lose.
Your passkey is stored by your device's own keychain (iCloud Keychain, Google Password Manager, or your password manager of choice), not by us. If you sign in on a new device with the same account on that keychain, your passkey travels with it.
When sign-in fails, the error message on screen has a “Report a problem” button beneath it. Tapping it gathers your device details, network state, and the error into a plain-text report and opens your share sheet. Send that report to support@aikochat.org — it contains what we need to work out what went wrong, without us having to ask you a dozen questions.
If you have lost access to the device holding your passkey and cannot sign in at all, email us and we will help.
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour on Aiko Chat.
We review reports and act within 24 hours, removing offending content and ejecting users who break the Terms of Use. If something urgent is not being handled in-app, email support@aikochat.org.
Aiko Chat is a federated app: rather than one company's server, it connects to an independently run server called an island. Your account and messages live on the island you joined. You can see which one under Settings → Server.
This matters for support: if your island is run by someone else, its operator handles moderation and uptime for it. Email us anyway if you are not sure who to ask — we will point you the right way.
You can delete your account yourself, at any time, from Settings → Delete account. It takes effect immediately, with no waiting period and no request to file. See Delete your account for exactly what is removed and what is kept.
What we collect and why is set out in full in the Privacy Policy. If you have a question it does not answer, ask us.
